Geography

Austria is largely mountainous country due to the Alps. Most of the country is high, only 32% of Austria is below 500 metres. The Alps consists of three parts: Norhtern Calcareous Alps, Central Alps and Southern Calcareous Alps. The Central Alps runs from Tyrol to Lower Austria, the Northern Calcareous Alps runs from Voralrberg towards Vienna. River Danube and River Salzach are the main rivers of Austria.
