Places to See
A visit to Austria provides the opportunity to see beautiful landscapes, wander world famous cities and walk in the footsteps of history. This alpine delight offers beautiful and historic cities, mountains, and delightful pastoral landscapes.
Vienna
Vienna is timeless, romantic and efficient. Here you can find glorious palaces, beautiful architecture, music and an Arts Quarter offering world-class museums and galleries. Many of the city's best sights are inside or on the two and half mile long road.
A must is to see The Hofburg (a stunning castle with sections dating from the 13th century), The Karlsplatz (with beautiful St. Charles's Church), Vienna's famous Opera House, The Belvedere Palace and The Schönbrunn Palace.
Salzburg
Mozart's hometown celebrated the Master's 250th birthday in 2006, but the tide of interest in Mozart continues to rise. Music is an integral part of this city's essence. Those interested in Mozart may want to see the impressive statue of him in Mozart Square. Salzburg’s Old Town contains numerous examples of Baroque architecture and most of the Old Town is pedestrian-only, which makes it even more delightful to explore.
Innsbruck
Innsbruck is one of the "ski" capitals of Europe. In summer, the area is a hiker's paradise with twenty five holiday villages to use as destinations for outings. Innsbruck is also blessed with notable cultural attractions.
Graz
It is a city of narrow lanes, various architectural styles, and beautiful courtyards.
Danube Valley
The Danube Valley is one of the major attractions of Austria. The best way to see it is from the water, sitting on the deck of your cruise ship.
