Royal Way – Prague Gate - Stavovské Theatre – Charles University - Celetná Street - Staroměstské Square - Staroměstská radnice s orlojem - Clementinum – Charles Bridge


The Royal Prague Way - is a join between royal county seat, royal court and Prague castle. This way has been using mostly for royal habitation coronation processions of Czech kings and the way is going to St.Vitus Cathedral cathedral. The Royal Way goes from Prague Gate through Celetná street to the Staroměstské square then throught "small square" to Karlova street near Křížovnické square and continues through Charles bridge to the Mostecká street and then to Malostranské square. From its upper corner behind St.Nicolas Church up through Nerudova street directly to Pohořeles square. From this place descending to Loretánská street to the Hradčanské square to the western gate to the Prague Castle. Turning from Nerudova street right to the Prague Castle at that time did not exist before, exist from 17th century.

Stavovské Theatre - (earlier given name Nosticovo theatre, later Tylovo theatre) is an historical theatre located in Prague, part of old town on "Ovocný trh" square. Theatre was buil by significant liberal patriot Mr. František Antonín u Nostic - Rienecek. He paid at it its piece of land and got agreement from emperor Josefa II. Notice on the building law says that him dedicate "one's native country and Muse""Patriae et Musis". 7th June 1781 was sums foundation - stone theatre. Architectural rendering building worked up count Kunigel and construction, present two years, drove court builder Anthony Haffenecker. Theatre is constructed in classicist style and for the first time was open 21. April of the year 1783 Lessingovou by tragedy "Emilia Galotti". At that time was capacity of the theatre thousand spectators. Later was because of comfort lowered on today's 659 seats.

Clementinum - is located near the Charles Bridge, right in the historical centre of Prague. The building is built on area of 2 hectares. It´s one of the largest building complexes in Europe. The most nice parts of the sightseeing tour in Clementinum are Astronomical Tower which is 68 meters high and presents a wonderful view of the historical center of Prague, The Mirror Chapel with an in-wrought interior with unique built in mirrors that can not be seen anywhere else and the Baroque Library hall with splendid fresco paintings on the ceiling and a few historically rare big globes.

Charles University The oldest university in Europe based 1348 by emperor Charles IV. On the corner of "Ovocný trh" square and "Železná" street is retained gorgeous extant gothic bay.
This time 42,400 students studying at Charles University more than 270 accredited academic programs with 600 departments. 7200 students are studying for bachelor´s degrees, 29 000 students are studying for master´s degrees, and over 6200 students are in PhD programs. There are more than 4300 foreign students - 750 of which study in english language academic programs. Over 5000 participants graduate from continuing education courses every year.

Prague Town Hall and „Orloj“ -is one of best known calendar - clock in the world. It´s a part of southern wall „Staroměstské“ town hall in Prague. The main reconstruction was made in the year 1410. On the Eastern side of the building at 14th century builders started to build on the basis of older arched construction tower. Later was annexed chapel and the ordination in the year 1381. (top tower with gallery was built as far as in years 1805 - 1807.) In the year 1402 were on tower set clock and in the year 1409 bell and original calendar - clock.) Conditions for its creation arose most probably already during the time of Charles IV. He had got for door - steps watchmaker Mr.Martin. By the year 1410 we can find in entries only three watchmaker: Jan, Albert and Mikuláš. The last then could create this calendar - clock "Orloj".
