Culture Overview

Spain has a rich cultural life. You will find here friendly people that are proud of their cultural heritage. Apart from the fact nice monuments are all around the country you will definitely enjoy one of the following that makes the country so interesting.

Bull Fighting
This is a show, basically a dance with death - one wrong move and the Matador could become impaled on the horns of the bull. It is the Matador's job to make this dance dramatic and enjoyable for the audience.

Bull Running
Thousands people pack into the street to start Spain's famous bull-running fiesta. Then, as a rocket goes off, a number of fighting bulls are let out onto the streets. A second rocket is then let off to make sure everyone knows the bulls are loose in the street. The bulls run along the narrow streets and runners dash along in front of the them, aiming to feel the breath of the bull on their backs, getting as close as possible. Runners look for a gap in the fence to slip through or jump over, or a space against the wall of the street.

Flamenco
Song, dance and guitar are blended into passionate rhythms which are often improvised and spontaneous. Flamenco dance has complex patterns of rhythm and sophisticated footwork with the upper body emphasising grace and posture.

Sports
It does not have meaning to mention any other sport but football. When there is a football match of favorite team it is a big feast. Famous football clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia are known all around the world.

Famous Natives
Miguel de Cervantes (novelist, poet, playwright) Pablo Picasso (artist) Diego Velazques (paintor) Antonio Banderas (actor) Enrique Inglesias (pop singer)
