Lan Kwai Fong Hotel

Location
The hotel is set amongst the renowned dining and entertainment districts of SoHo and Lan Kwai Fong which are both within short walking distance.
Located at Kau U Fong is an alley amid the busy Central District, resembles a street in the '60s with old buildings that are not more than 10 storeys in height around. On the ground floor of these buildings are squatter workshops which almost come to extinction in Hong Kong. However, much of the shops are now slowly refurbished into trendy eateries and art galleries, suited for the young and trendy. One could also find shopping easily accessible with luxury boutiques such as The Landmark, IFC and Prince’s Building around the corner away from the hotel, whereas, within walking distance, there is the Pedder Building on Pedder Street Central, the historic building carries six storeys of shops with factory outlets, designer shops and specialty shops carry silk, embroidery and cashmere.
Massive shopping complex such as Times Square and World Trade Centre conveniently located in Causeway Bay are just minutes away by MTR or taxi. Causeway Bay is one of Hong Kong's most popular shopping districts, one will find side streets are closed to traffic on weekends to accommodate the crowds. Russell Street, Hennessy Road and Yee Wo Street are major hubs within Causeway Bay. Well known Japanese department stores, such as Sogo, boutiques of Fashion Walk and Times Square are for those shopping fanatics.
SoHo
SoHo, located in Mid-levels is an area in Hong Kong Island known for popular internation cuisine. The name SoHo is derived from it’s location: South of Hollywood Road.
There are two ways to reach Soho, either through walking on the narrow roads from Hollywood Road towards Staunton street, reaching Elgin Street or to take the easy way using the Central-Mid-Levels escalator. Intertwining between the main streets of SoHo presents many trendy restaurants, cozy bars, nightclubs, the art galleries, antique stores of Hollywood Road and residential upper class housing.
Lan Kwai Fong
Lan Kwai Fong is a small square of streets in Central and Western district, Hong Kong. This area was previously dedicated to hawkers before the Second World War, but slowly transformed in the mid 1980s. Nowadays, it is a popular expatriate gathering in Hong Kong for drinking and dining. The atmosphere is notably cosmopolitan.
Lan Kwai Fong as an area is defined by D'Aguilar Street and the smaller lane, Lan Kwai Fong, an L-shaped, cobble-stoned lane. Wellington Street and Wyndham Street, through to the Hong Kong Fringe Club. It is also home to a small number of art galleries.
Lan Kwai Fong is perhaps the most popular and well known area for a night out. Consisting of numerous bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants, it is a popular choice for the well off locals, expatriates and tourists. The high costs associated with the area makes this a relatively high classed area, although the quality and reputation of this area is obvious virtually every night. One visiting the area on a Friday night will be overwhelmed by the enormous crowds that fill the streets, with all bars having only standing room. It is interesting to see that, as mentioned, a majority of the crowds are in fact expatriates or international students.
