Set above the clouds at 1,800 metres (5,900 ft), the archetypally Alpine resort of Avoriaz clings to the snowy mountainside and steep cliffs.
This white paradise stretches right down into the busy little streets where horsedrawn sleighs are the favourite local transport. Between horse drawn carriages and skiers at the foot of a vast Franco-Swiss ski domain.
The Resort boasts a typically Alpine decor with its traditional wooden chalets and warm and cosy atmosphere.
The Portes du Soleil ski domain runs through the heart of this pedestrian resort and stretches right into Switzerland. Its pistes welcome families and skiers of all standards.

Your ski pass is valid from the day after your arrival to your day of departure. The resort is equipped with a "hands free" ski pass system ensuring greater fluidity for skiers (you may be required to pay a deposit to ensure that skiers return their card at the end of their stay).

All the sensations of the ski slopes, at your own pace.
Professional ski instructors, who are perfectly familiar with the ski domain, will guide you over the slopes best suited to your level of skill, to ensure you progress safely but surely in the best possible conditions, in small groups of 12 people maximum.

A test on the first morning will determine your level, and the right class for you:
Beginners: this is your first experience of Alpine skiing
Class 1: you can control your speed, and are at ease on blue slopes
Class 2: you can negotiate red slopes at a reasonable speed
Class 3: you are at ease on all slopes

The Multi Snow Sports Programme enables skiers of Class 3 and higher from 11 years old to try all the techniques, with state-of-the-art equipment.

- Skiing through the forests, in the powder, "on the edge" of the piste, skicross and slalom
- Initiation and information re safety in the mountains
With specialised instructors, participants can plan the week's schedule according to the wishes of the group, weather conditions and the facilities available in the ski resort.

Children & Teens
With the benefit of over 40 years’ Club Med experience behind it, our Resort provides innovative clubs for children and teenagers:
- Dedicated areas specifically designed for their needs, and equipment designed with a view to comfort and safety
- G.O®s with a passion for their job*
- Skiing or snowboard lessons given by professional ski instructors, creative activities and games for the different age groups
- Opening hours that allow parents to make the most of their day’s skiing, and respect the children’s desires and sleeping patterns
For information: the children’s clubs are open all week, except Sunday.
*In France, G.O®s with a BAFA (State diploma for youth group leaders) or childcare qualification, depending on the age of the children; in other countries, an equivalent local diploma or relevant experience.

We've thought of everything possible to ensure your children have a unique, adventure-packed holiday, with discovery, sports and activities for each age group:

Hotel services for your children
BABYSITTING*
To enjoy a moment of total freedom, take advantage of the babysitting service.
Information at Reception and/or the Tourist Office, for the list of babysitters provided by the ski resort. For information: we provide a list of baby-sitting services on request. Club Med provdes the contact but has no resposibility for the service provided.
SNOW GARDEN
From 4 years old, participants learn to ski, with circuits around figurines and under hoops; they learn to use the ski tow and snow belt.
Getting to the Resort
For customers who have not purchased the Transport package.
You can book transfer to the Resort, at extra cost: We come and pick you up at the airport or railway station on arrival, and take you to the Resort.
At the end of your holiday we take you back to the airport or station. Reserve with main holiday booking, subject to availability and terms of sale.
